not one of the low price final customers... wrote… Comment #3 posted on February 11, 2009 at 03:31 AM
"a low price for the final customer" is definately not an honest statement, and this is coming from someone who ... 1)considers montana his favorite paint and uses it quite regularly. 2)has been buying and selling thousands upon thousands of cans of montana for over 8 years. 3)tries his hardest to make the product affordable for fellow writers making almost no profit in return. the fact that there is a monopoly on this product where one person is the only choice to attain the paint in bulk makes it impossible to pay a reasonable price.especially when the price goes up just about every time i order. i would like to know what is considerred to be a fair price for someone like me who buys thousands of cans every year? can you please share your views with me on this...thanks.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment, we appreciate both the good words and the critics. About the first let me say you again thanks for your loyalty and efforts to push our products, we're glad you like them. Talking about prices, I think what we say about low prices is absolutely honest. You'd wonder if you see the benefit we are working with -I'm talking about our prices of export- to keep our product affordable for everybody. Concerning the US market, although we try to keep the same prices, sometimes, the unstable economic situation makes our efforts useless. Remind, we sell a product in euros and our American distributor suffers the consequences of Dollar situation, which was tragic along 2008. Then you should add transport costs and customs taxes. Definitely the price is not the same we have in Spain, but there are a lot of reasons why. About the "monopoly" you mentioned, I think is normal to have one distributor in each country and I can tell you by our experience that importing products is a really hard job, it's a lot of money to invest and it's a lot of risk to take, since Spain is not behind the corner. I think our distributors in the US are doing a really good job, offering a good service and facing a lot of problems, so they worth our maximum support. I remind you just an example. When we had a fire destroying our factory in 2002, we could not regularly deliver to our guys in the US and for a long while our service was unstable. Guess who assumed the economic consequence of this in the US? We just produce Graffiti products, we are not involved in car or industrial paint or some other business. I can truly say that nobody at Montana is making profit on Graffiti, at least no more than the strict necessary to keep this Company alive and offer the best quality we can at the best price we can. You can also write us at montana@montanacolors.com if you want to tell us about your personal situation, we are here to listen at you and, in the limits of our possibility, to help you. greetings from Barcelona!

Montana Colors is the first and only Graffiti independent company, born in 1994 and keeping going on today, even after the adversities suffered thru the years.
Everything started in Barcelona, in 1994, when, mixing up Jordi & Miquel’s chemist knowledge and all the experience offered by Kapi & Moockie, Montana Colors rose with the first spray can for Graffiti Writers, a 200ml can in 60 colors. The characteristics were the ones which every writer dreamed about, clean lines, good pressure, excellent coverage and a very affordable price.
After that, we kept growing together with Graffiti, developing new technologies, from Hardcore to Alien and MTN 94
15 years later, the target is still the same, working hard for Graffiti writers’ needs, offering top quality paint, complete range of products and colors, the best price possible and a full respect for people and environment.
In our 15th Anniversary, it makes us so glad to join 12oz Prophet with all of you!
Love from Barcelona!
