The East and West coasts met in the Bronx, when native New Yorker and
graffiti pioneer legend KEL 1ST and Seattle’s B-Girl superstar LADY-Q,
fuse creative style, art, and fashion to set the stage for the
October 23rd, 2008 launch of their NEW YORK BY THE DOZEN SHOWROOM
EVENT at BLVD GALLERY, 2316 Second Avenue, in Seattle’s Belltown
section. A series of buyer’s event showcasing limited editions of
fashion and accessories from the Big Apple featuring WRITERS BENCH,
BROOKLYN BUNNY, TRANSITWEAR, QUEENS REPUBLIC, THE RANDY AMERICAN, WUT
UP DOG! and ACTUAL APPAREL. NEW YORK BY THE DOZEN in collaboration
with BLVD GALLERY brings the Big Apple’s independent designer labels
to the local northwest market for wholesale and retail purchase.
Product lines include T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, caps, children’s
wear, pet apparel and accessories. The entire inventory is produced in
limited runs only, to ensure retail stores have seasonal styles that
keep high customer demand for these unique products.
KEL 1ST designed for many of Seventh Avenues hottest brands, Guess,
Champion and Madion Avenue’s Polo Ralph Lauren, as well as designing
his own line of custom jewelry for Hip-Hop stars including Busta
Rhyme, Kelis, and Mariah Carey. LADY-Q modeled for Indigo-Red, Levis,
RocaWear and Yak Pak of Brooklyn. Their network of creative friends
and fashion forward icons became the focus of this duo’s next big
adventure, NEW YORK BY THE DOZEN.
