I know I owe my beloved country a lot for all its given me, my family and friends, its a good country that has of recent times turned its back on US. We as a people have gotten too comfortable in the presumptuous role of world leaders of politics and culture and here we face a looming crisis unlike any other in our lifetime. I have never taken stock of how bad it can get until it got bad. I must say I felt more security when growing up as a child in the South Bronx throughout the 70s-80s and in those days NYC was closely resembling Beruit, but at the very least there was a cultural movement going on to inspire US. I am humbled these days by my own hardships and that of my friends and family across the globe yet I am inspired by the fact that we will, do and carry the weight and burden of one-another.
US creative types take refuge in creativity and our community, as always it is a safe haven wherein we can flush out our emotions and reflect on our passage thru life. Wether by words, painting, photos, sculpture or thought, these days are the days that are rich in definition, how will you define them?
