New York, New York

While Street Science workshops, panels and battles were happening inside Watt, artists from around
the world were painting the wall outside the building. Only problem—permission had been requested but
not granted. Apparently some neighborhood residents called the cops. Discussions ensued. Aruna, a
festival organizer, diplomatically suggested that since the pieces would look terrible if left unfinished,
the artists should be allowed to continue and that the ultimate fate of this work could be decided later.
Point well taken. Painting continued. Round one goes to: artists!
