UPDATE: Great IZ obit in this morning’s NY Times!

The graffiti community gathered this afternoon in the backyard of Tuff City Styles
on Fordham Road in the Bronx to pay tribute to and reminisce about the legendary
IZ the WIZ. The canvases from IZ’s one man show which had opened just a couple
of weeks before were still on exhibit and writers had stayed up all night painting memorial
pieces for the man they fondly remembered as a “Master Blaster”.

All the artwork here dedicated to Mike is beautiful, thank you. It is nice to see some old familiar faces. Also, thank you to Martha Cooper for the lovely article. Best regards, Kate (Mrs. IZ)

Howcome the lava piece says 1960-2009, and the shirts say 1958-2009?
