Tonight will mark the start of the 2012 Summer Olympics as 60,000 spectators on hand and Billions watching at home around the world as they open the games at the Olympic Stadium in London. The ceremony itself is anticipated being directed by Britain’s own Danny Boyle (director of films such as Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire), the spectacle is titled “Isles of Wonder” which is inspired by William Shakespeare’s play, “The Tempest”.

The spectacular celebrations will be watched by a global audience of approximately four billion people. After the awesome display at the Beijing Opening Ceremony four years ago, people around the world are at the edge of their seats to see what London has in store. Tonight’s ceremony is sure to be memerable with an ending performance by Paul McCartney. Coverage of the opening games of the London 2012 Olympics will begin at 7:30 pm (Eastern and Pacific time zones) tonight on NBC.

Pretty sure that they are 5 hours ahead of the US or something like that? I remember last time in Beijing there was hella of a delay between the times broadcasted on television and the true times. That is sort of entertaining to me though lol.
