This weekend Australian graffiti writer provocateur Lush will open his first solo show Shitty Drawings in New York City at Klughaus Gallery. We recently got a taste of his work in the street art-oriented group show F*CK ART at the Museum of Sex, which featured award-winning porn star Andy San Dimas handing out chocolate popsicles in the shape of Lush’s cock. “The meaning is the whole art world could suck my d*ck” Lush told 12ozProphet at the opening. That sentiment is sure to be apparent throughout his latest presentation of work.
It sounds like this upcoming exhibition will be less of a spectacle, comprising of drawings that helped turn the artist into a veritable internet sensation. But who knows what the artist has up his sleeve. The only way to find out is to head to the opening this Saturday, August 25th at the Klughaus Gallery on 47 Monroe Street where you can also pick up a copy of his limited edition zine.
