Recap: Andrea von Bujdoss “Typograff” at Fuse Gallery
This article was posted by Senior Editor 10 months, 5 days, 12 hours, 28 minutes ago.
Artist Andrea von Bujdoss is probably better known to our readers as Queen Andrea, or QA for short, a graffiti writer whose vibrant colors and patterns are reflective of her AOK crew affiliation. The New York City based fine artist, illustrator, and graphic designer grew up in SoHo and earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design. Andrea’s love of letters is apparent not only in her work on walls but throughout her design portfolio, (having worked with many major brands including Rocawear, Rayban, Married to the Mob, KidRobot, and Scion) in addition to her fine artwork.
Typograff is Andrea von Bujdoss’ New York City solo show debut. Her new works in the exhibition are a celebration of typography and graffiti, alongside new geometric works. From giant ornate vintage lettering to old school signpainter styles, from female superheroes to detailed colorful geometric paintings, this exhibition is a vibrant synthesis of graphic styles. Featured are paintings, neon sign work, and limited edition giclee prints and screenprints.
Andrea von Bujdoss Typograff is up through August 8th at Fuse Gallery in the East Village on 93 2nd Ave at the back of Lit Lounge.
