These silver pieces were painted on a fall night in 1999 during an all city highway and track side blast off. Painted in all Rusto colors…Silver, Black, Harbor and Sail Blue. Visible from the Henry Hudson Parkway which runs parallel to this wall. The pieces although painted on a previously virgin wall…lasted only about 1 week.

It is with great sorrow we painted this tribute to Sigi Von Koeding aka DARE TWS.
Sigi and I met in 1996 while I was in Germany- He invited me to come paint over in Switzerland with him and his crew.I was amazed when I arrived to see his world of art- The Basel trackside was so intense- Dare had burners for miles.
We would paint several times over the next 14 years in several countries- and we always kept in touch.
Sigi was just here a few months ago with his boy Cole- we hung out - painted - and spoke of the future travels - galleries and such. All that aside he realy wanted to rock a New York subway…The last time I would see my friend was going thru the hole in the fence into the subway yard .....He was a true writer

These pieces were painted one night in September of 1994 along the busy Bruckner expressway which cuts through the Bronx. Across the expressway on the other side of this bridge CES and CLARK already had full color pieces. We were on a mission with no permission but were painting as if we had a pass, which was typical mode of operation in the mecca during the first half of the 90’s. We encountered no problems from the beast. The pieces lasted until the city painted over them about a year or so later.
This is what the same location looks like today.

Did this one in Queens in 1993…funny thing about this one is that without thinking about it then, this was done in a school yard, pretty graphic content for the kids to see, must not have lasted long. cope, rob and jest were one the wall as well but i dont have the pics….MED

I just want to take a second to interrupt or voyage through the 90’s to thank everyone that respects what we do and have done in this culture of ours. This element of hip-hop that we represent with all our hearts goes sometimes unnoticed and unappreciated. It is difficult to make a living as an artist, and the majority of what we do both now and in the past was never done for money but for the love of the art and the culture itself. All of us at TuffCityStyles have been blessed to be able to survive by our art and we thank everyone that supports us and all artists alike. I am overwhelmed by the positive feedback and support that everyone has given us and all of us at TuffCityStyles are happy to share our past, present and future with all those who respect, understand and appreciate it. Never did I think that this culture of ours would be accepted by so many people all over the world, and that it could be a part of so many lives. I am honored to be a part of this global family of artists that represent for the art of graffiti. Enjoy the 90’s….............MED and the crew at TuffCityStyles
