Met this kid in Tokyo. He was 17 years old, so I nick named him Young Buck. He was at W-Base everyday on his bike ready to ride. Super fast and busting wheelies down the street whenever we rode. You could tell he was just psyched and full of energy. There was a race later this evening and he didn’t win. No big deal, but he was so bummed. I guess when you are that young, stuff like means a lot. Check the hat and the shirt. The kid probably only knows Brooklyn through Biggie tapes and chances are he never read The Autobiography of Malcolm X, but he’s was repping NYC like he was born and raised in Bed-Stuy. Most of the young Japanese skaters and riders were so fascinated by New York City in some way, even though they’ve never been there.
