We lost a good friend and an amazing person this past weekend. Amelia was 24 years old. She was hit on her bike on 1st Ave and 49 Street on Friday night. Tell the people close to you that you love them, treat everyday like it is your last, and make it mean something. None of us know whats coming next, nothing is promised. We love you Amelia. We love you. You really were and still are ‘oneinamelia’ and we will see you when we get there.

My name is Imelda. My boyfriend reads your blog. He forwarded me and his co-workers this entry. It’s not drowning in sentiment but when a friend dies it shakes people. Her name sounds like mine. I’m 24 as well and I’ve been talking about getting a new bike so I get why this entry shook him. He sent me a text just 2 minutes ago telling me to read this… he sent me another one saying I love you no matter what. We take each other for granted. I take the world for granted.
I’m sorry for your loss. Amelia speaks to people through this entry, this picture is beautiful and her face is powerful.

I’m only a reader of your blog, but my thoughts and condolences go out to you and your’s. i’ve lost good friends to sudden accidents, and no matter how much time goes by, the memory of that loss is never easy to swallow. it’s the good memories that people keep alive through conversation that i find most promising. best of wishes to you and anyone else who’s life she touched.
