Admittedly, I’m probably not the person you want to ask about popular music today, I haven’t turned on the radio in years and am out of touch with most new music. I’m ok with that. Most of you have probably seen Snoop’s new video, Sensual Seduction, but its really blowing my mind right now. I don’t know who directed it, but it is done so well, even down to the shitty VHS style “PLAY” graphic that appears at the beginning of the video. I could do without his breakdown towards the end (I’ll listen to Deep Cover for that) but the fact that the whole song is sang through a fucking vocoder is mind blowing. Plus the When Doves Cry mirror-screen action with a Robert Palmer-esque gang of exceptionally hot girls “playing” keyboards and guitars. And the scene with the circular bed floating in space? “If you don’t know by now, Doggy Dogg is a freak, freeeeak, freeeeee-eee-eeak.” Classic.
