I went to Jamaica Festival last weekend at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo.
I wanted to check the vibes.and sound. I ran into people who havent seen for a while.
Its happening!

Mike Ming is proud to announce an art show, ‘Salon Bob’, at bob
Gallery (bob bar) in beautiful lower east side.
The show will feature new works by Mike Ming, who is recently more
known as one of the Dell Laptop Artists.
The art show will be from April 20, 2009 until May 12, 2009.
There will be an artist reception on MONDAY, April 20, 2009, 7-11 pm.
Please join us to celebrate this lovely occasion.
Bob bar is located at 235 Eldridge Street, New York, NY 10002.
between Houston Street and Stanton Street.
There will also be a closing reception on MONDAY may 11, 2009, 7-11
for those of you
who either could not make the opening reception or can not get enough
of the Mike Ming Art.
It would be an honor if you can make either events.
During the opening of the show, there will be soothing sounds provided
by LES’s famed DJ,
DJ SMOKE. He will be on deck to inspire moving feet and dancing bodies.
For the closing reception, there will be a surprise musical appearence
by FAUX MEX. ooops.
Also during the receptions will be a two time (opening and closing)
only mini installation at bob.
Remember, APRIL 20 ( 4/20 ) 7-11 pm and MAY 11 ( 5/11 ) 7-11 pm.

This photo of Ted almost became a cover of Transworld Skateboarding Japan.
Everyone like this photo.
But They said a cover photo has to be japanese skater. so unfortunatelly didnt happen.
so now i can share this only here.

She is one of my favorite photographer and inspire me a lot.
and still I can learn a lot from her works.
As Adam Gopnik remarked in his 2001 New Yorker feature on the artist, “Levitt’s photographs, like her city, though occasionally they rise to beauty, are mostly too quick for it. Instead, they have the quality of frozen street-corner conversation: she went out, saw something wonderful, came home to tell you all about it, and then, frustrated said, ‘You had to be there,’ and you realize, looking at the picture, that you were.”

Yuri Shibuya was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1976. Since graduating from the Musashino Art University in 1998, she has been traveling and taking pictures in many countries from South East Asia to South America. Since 1996 She has been documenting skateboard culture in NYC. After each trip, she makes a ‘zine (photo copy book) about her journey. Since 2003 her work has been supported by ART BY XEROX. Her ‘zines are sold in Printed Matter and Dashwood Books in New York City. Yuri’s work has appeared on the pages of Paper Sky, Relax, Tokion, Transworld Skateboarding, Warp Japan, Dune, Untitled, Adrenalin,
Lodown, Hamburger Eyes, and The New York Times.
Yuri is currently working on her first hardcover book which is being released in Fall 2007 with AKA Projects.
