Mare and Stevie Wonder

Last night will go down as one of the most memorable of my life, I went to a benefit concert at the Beacon Theatre where Bob DeNiro his wife Grace, Matt Damon and his wife Lucy hosted an event to benefit the Gateway School. The students opened up with a nice hip hop dance piece accompanied by a drum section. Then Jon Stewart came on and did a set which was in true form funny ass hell. Then Stevie Wonder came on and blew it out the box.!!! I didnt expect a full on concert but he played on for a good hour and a half. The after party was at NOBU 57 where me and my boy Jeff Neweltt arrived at the same time Stevie did, Im not star struck but really he is one of my all time heroes so I said to him as he passed ‘I love you’ and he reciprocated. This mans life covers my whole existence and for him to acknowledge me was awesome. In the restaurant I chatted with Deniro but bee lined to Mr. Wonder and spoke to him expressing that my seeing him perform was a dream come true. We had a few laughs too , he is a very funny man and full of joy. Later I was kicking it with his bass player and stayed close to his table as he sang and laughed with his crew. I had to come back and get a flick and said to him’Chevere’ and for those that know his music you know what I mean, he kicked a bit of spanish with me and I hugged him and had a drink to get my senses back. WOW. Really did that just happen. It was the last thing I expected on an otherwise regular Tuesday. Big up Jah Furry you came correct.
