Holy shit! Is it possible?! Is it finally winter in NYC??? Todays high will be in the 50s but the lows for tonight will be in the 30s! I might have to rock a scarf, gloves, hoodie, vest, skully, and down jacket for tonight! Ok…maybe just a hoodie, vest and a beer will keep me warm. For these nice cold brisk nights, I tend to search for a beer that fits perfectly with the weather. There are many seasonal beers to choose from, but I always steer towards Old Man Winter Ale by Southern Tier Brewery.
Brewed with 3 different hops and 2 types of malt, Old Man Winter Ale delivers a hop-forward,citrus, malty blend aroma to it. The beer’s appearance adopts a orange/amber color once its poured into a glass. After the first sip, one can taste a mixture of oranges, bread, with a hint of caramel. A bitter taste can be found towards the end of each sip. You can definitely taste the 7.7% ABV that the beer has to offer.
Grab a six pack and enjoy this rich winter beer with a nice hearty stew, cheese, or accompanied with a piece of warm bread. I will have a couple of 6 packs ready for the rest of the crew once they get back from Art Basel in Miami. They are going to need it to stay warm. Keep in mind, this seasonal beer is available from November till about the end of January.
Salud!
Recommendations:try it on tap first. Then grab a 6 pack and enjoy it amongst friends.
