Video: Silver and Light - The Box Truck Camera

Anyone who has ever used a camera for any reason realizes that what they are doing is taking a single moment in time and freezing it forever. What Ian Ruther has done, is create something more than just a camera. He has created a time machine. By turning his box truck into what can be simplified as a pin-hole camera, Ian has actualized something that takes an enormous amount of courage to produce . He has spent his life savings, and years of his time, to create what can only be described as a true visual masterpiece. This camera does not operate off of negatives, nor does it make prints. It uses giant silver plates that retain the image directly. Each plate costs roughly $500.00 to create, which is an astronomical number considering the margin of error. This is an amazing project that deserves all the attention it can get.
“This project was created with the same spirit that america was founded on. Our intentions are to connect everyone in america through the lens of this camera and social networking sites.” - Ian Ruther
