12ozProphet Exclusive: LA Bids Farewell to the Key Club by Taking it Over

By - Friday, March 15th, 2013

After 14 years of serving the Sunset Strip with amazing musicians, Los Angeles had to close the doors of the Key Club. As the final local band was playing they reminded everyone on the PA it was the last night and to write their message on the wall…They should have thought about that before they invited just about every local writer in town. After the PSA giving the green light the place turned into a fun house of graffiti artists running free writing their names all over the place. As I was with Risk (MSK/AWR/WCA) and Skid (DMS) we did a walk through the building leaving no wall untouched. Stepping out to the back of the building was a wide range of local artists associated with The Seventh Letter hitting up the alley way and parking lot of the property. In the end the place wreaked of beer and spray paint as party goers stumbled home and artists stayed long into the night finishing their work. Sadly most of everything was buffed shortly after.
