12ozProphet Forum Shot of the Day: NOXER
Today’s 12oz Shot of the Day, a cleanly executed wildstyle, comes at you courtesy of NOXER DOD from our New York City thread.
NOXER is a Brooklyn-bred writer. He reps Department of Defense (DoD) crew. NOXER’s been in the game consistently for over 20 years now and he’s not showing any signs of slowing up. A self-described triple threat, Noxer primarily does tags, pieces and fills. He cites his inspiration as his environment and his surroundings, along with line art and Egyptian hieroglyphics. His signature mark is a character he developed back 1996 (he still uses other characters, but he wanted one that he specifically would be known for) that he refers to as “Black Man gone robbin’ ” (a play on Batman & Robin, as his character resembles Batman). For Noxer, graffiti was a form of self-expression and its own art. While he’s no stranger to being out in public, he’s always rocking one of a variety of masks to conceal his identity.
NOXER has been the subject of a mini documentary and was featured in one of the truck series videos for the collective, entitled Arts and Rhymes. He’s also put on a solo exhibition at Low Brow Antique. He’s even been the subject of a few 12oz articles over the years for his character and his No Love zine.
