2nd Annual Elements of Hip Hop BBQ in Philly

By - Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

The 2nd annual Elements of Hip Hop BBQ was held Sunday August 16th from 12pm to 8pm in Philadelphia. The event was held in North Philly on Leithgow Street, between 4th, 5th, and Susquehanna Avenue. The BBQ featured tri-state MC’s, DJs, graffiti artists, poppers, and break dancers. People of all ages showed up to enjoy the entertainment. Many took the opportunity to exchange black books, and catch a few tags wherever they found space.

Many legends known in Philly showed up, and were willing to hit black books, and talk about old traditions. There was piecing, tagging, murals, and even rollers. Many of the writers painted tribute pieces/tags for DUCK, who recently passed. One features a detailed mural of DUCK himself, with his name and crew. The BBQ gave everyone a chance to catch up, paint spots, and appreciate the work put in by legends in the scene.

The event will continue annually, and will hopefully continue to feature talented musicians, dancers, and painters. Follow @PHILLYLOWLANDGORILLA on Instagram for more information on the next BBQ in Philadelphia.
