A Quick Look at Robert Montgomery

By - Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

{image-1} We keep looking at the work and words of Robert Montgomery here at 12oz. Stemming from ideas founded by the Situationists of France, Montgomery “hijacks space in the city, often illegally,” (sound familiar?) and pastes up his own thoughts. Getting up on billboards, he is directing the words to people who may have long since turned into zombies from years of ad campaigns. {image-2} The idea is similar, in some ways, to REVS and his journal entries (235 in all) which he would paint in between the train tunnels of NYC. {image-3} Also really psyched on the images of the half finished drawings by Montgomery.
