By - Friday, September 25th, 2015

For The Archives is a video series from Bazooka Films 77 and Oakland Terminal Gallery that features artists that have made an impact on the Oakland Community. With all the talent in Oakland, it’s high time that somebody took this step and started showcasing them and their work. as artist James Gayles says, “it rivals New York” in the type of energy and community that you will find in Oakland.

Gayles is a watercolor artist that produces incredible portraits and other works from his Oakland studio. In the video above he waxes about his process, clientele, a bit about his history and his take on Oaklands art scene. From his words, as well as his art, you can tell that this is a low key cat who is happy just to be able to make a living off his passion. We should all be so lucky.
