Art On The Run: Street art books by Beast Syndicate

By - Monday, June 15th, 2015

Detroit-area graphics studio Beast Syndicate recently released a new series of street art books titled Art On The Run. There are currently four books to collect, with each edition dedicated to a specific region: initially NYC, Miami, and the UK (two volumes). California, Detroit, Chicago and a book of truck graffiti are planned for 2016.

Each book features work by hundreds of famous, infamous and unknown street artists from around the world, including Banksy, Shepard Fairey, D*Face, KAWS, Ron English, FAILE, Swoon, Rone, Meggs, Mishka, Dabs Myla, How & Nosm, Retna, EINE, Mr Penfold, and Alec Monopoly.

With so many street art books flooding the market in recent years, Art On The Run™ stands apart – every photo in every book was personally taken by BEAST, who have been cataloging the urban environment across North America and Europe since 2004.

The temporary nature of most street art means that much of this work can only be seen in photo collections like BEAST’s. Indeed, WK Interact’s impressive black and white murals on an abandoned gas station on Lafayette street – featured in Art On The Run: NYC – has been demolished and replaced by a fast food restaurant.
