The Art of Storytelling archives (1998 – 2015) and print release

By - Tuesday, March 17th, 2015

The Art of Storytelling started as a graffiti video magazine back in 1998. Since then, they have released two full-length videos and two print publications. Terror in the Burbs was released on VHS in 1999 and The Art of Storytelling DVD was released in 2005.  I have watched this video more times than I can count and it was a huge influence on my focus of documenting and sharing graffiti, especially while continuing my education in New Jersey.

To celebrate the public release of the archives, they have released a 19″ x 25″ inch print with EYE called Tunnel Rats. The photo was taken in 2006,  7 stories below New York City, and was shot on film. The photo has been processed into a 4 color screen print on 100lb Cougar white paper and was printed with water-based acrylic using automotive grade pigments with a semi-matte finish. Each print is individually numbered and signed by EYE himself. Each print comes with a free copy of The Art of Storytelling book, as well as a free Art of Storytelling t-shirt. This is a limited print run of 100 with only 80 available for purchase. The site also leads us to believe they will releasing more limited edition prints in the upcoming year, so stay tuned. They have also uploaded several videos from writers like NAVY8, NEKST and KEMOS, along with interviews with CLAW, CHIP7,  ESPO, STAK and ZEPHYR, to name a few.
