Big L Rest In Peace

Big L Documentary Trailer – “Street Struck: The Big L Story” Lamont ‘Big L’ Coleman was shot and killed in Harlem 13 years ago today. Big L was considered by many to be one of the greatest rappers of his time. A member of the legendary ‘Diggin’ in the Crates’ Crew and founder of the Children of the Corn group, Big L was born and raised in Harlem, New York. On February 15th 1999 Big L was shot nine times in the face and chest in the doorway of 45 West 139th Street. There are many theories about the motive behind L’s murder, one being that it was revenge by enemies of his brother Lee who was in prison at the time. Either way, that day New York lost one of the most on point freestylers and unique storytellers of the nineties. Having rapped on numerous occasions about his love for Harlem, we thought it only right to take a trip there today and throw our L’s up for one of the greats. Big L Rest In Peace!
