Book Reissue: 'Graffiti A New York' by Andrea Nelli

By - Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

Whole Train Press has announced that it is reissuing one of the first ever books on Graffiti after over 30 years of being out of print. ‘Graffiti A New York’ documents some of the earliest and most influential years in the development of graffiti art as we know it. The development of top to bottoms set the new standard for train graffiti and inspired artists to go as big and as grand as possible. Tags turned into bubble letters and fill-ins, which in turn became burners and masterpieces. In this time graffiti evolved from a fly to a monster. Looking at some of the prints from this book is almost like stepping into a time machine. Back into an era of a raw and untamed New York where innovation and culture was birthing the largest and most inclusive art movement to ever grace the earth so far. The release of the reissued ‘Graffiti A New York’ is scheduled for April 13th 2012. It is a must have for the graffiti historian and enthusiast.
