I just made a trip to Brazil and spent a month and a half there painting. It was out of this world. Like stepping into a time warp, crack cocaine is just starting to hit the cities of Brazil, and the effects are apparent everywhere. Homelessness and dereliction is running amuck, and with a thoroughly corrupt governmental system, there is no end in sight. São Paulo is a mega-city, and the visual onslaught is relentless, the local writers, whether Pixadores or Graffiti Writers have made a real mark on their city… I added my 2 cents, but as I drove to the airport to leave, I was reminded yet again how sprawlingly big the city is. Despite my best efforts, I barely left a mark. Here’s a collage of some of the pieces and people I met along the way.
