Breaking News: 9/11 Mural by Street Artist WK Interact Scraped to Shreds

The 12oz team was shocked to learn that the massive block-long ‘Project Brave’ mural by street artist WK Interact was being scraped and power-washed off the wall today, weeks short of it’s planned run through October 11th. As opposed to the usual burglars and bikers that often make up the work of WK, Project Brave celebrated the FDNY in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Impressive in scale, the Project Brave mural on Kent between N5th and N6th in Williamsburg, Brooklyn was installed shortly before the anniversary and only scheduled to run for one month. Ironically the heroic images of New York’s Bravest are being extinguished with a power-hose. Vandalism of this sort should not be tolerated!
