Preview: BWM Art Cars on Display at London Olympics

By - Monday, July 23rd, 2012

BWM will be displaying their entire collection of Art Cars in London during the 2012 Olympics. The 17 cars will be parked at the NCP car park on Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch, London for free viewing. The Art Cars project began in 1975 upon French race car driver Herve Poulain’s desire to “design a car that married artistic excellence to an already perfect object.” Alexander Calder designed the first car, followed by Frank Stella, Roy Liechtenstein, Andy Warhol, and each subsequent car is as stunning as the bar set by the first four artists. Stop by BMW Drives to learn about each Art Car and its artist. BWM has also provided an online tour for all those unable to attend. Source: Autocar
