Product designer Axel Pfaender created the Berlin Boombox, a cardboard stereo system for the iPhone out out of his personal love for music and graphic design. He is currently running a KickStarter campaign to bring his design into production. The has definitely been a nostalgia for the boombox’s of the 80’s, bringing to mind The Boombox Project book and the retro Lasonic replica stereo system for iPhones sold at Urban Outfitters. Although it definitely looks like something you’d be sure to use only inside your crib, I guess one would just have to be careful trying to swag outdoors with this.
Pfaender is currently working on funds to make the design of the product actually exist, so check out the KickStarter page for more info. All in all, the Berlin Boombox certainly seems fresh and a dope spin on making eco-friendly designs!
