By - Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Chris Stain, the Baltimore born and Brooklyn based street artist had his latest show and book signing at the Wooster Street Social Club. Stain has been at the forefront of the street art game for many years and has rightfully earned the respect of his peers. Stains’ blue collar subject matter speaks to people of all ages as it timelessly relates to the struggles, trials and tribulations of the working class and the youth of today. The evening was full of fun, food, music and art. In addition to Chris’s art on the wall and for sale, there was also the release of his new book entitled “Long Story Short: A Collection of Inspiration” which is published through Drago. Stain’s frequent street painting partner Billy Mode was on the 1’s & 2’s providing the soundtrack for the night. Also on the docket for the evening was a slideshow and roundtable discussion moderated by Josh McPhee, screenprinting by the Bushwick Print Lab as well as vegan fare being served. Notable attendees at this jam packed event included Ivory and Shelter Serra, Logan Hicks, Martha Cooper, and Jordan Seiler. Text and Photo: Joe Russo
