Photo: Graffiti in Copenhagen – The Early Days

By - Friday, December 16th, 2011

Bates posted this photo set from the early days of Copenhagen graffiti on his blog on 12ozProphet. They are reminiscent of John Naar’s photographs of New York in the 1970’s in Faith of Graffiti. Here’s what Bates had to say: “Every City/Country has its own history. Here’s political, funny slogans, punk rock stencils (before street art) Graffiti, all before pre- hip hop. The pictures are taken in the years 1981 and 1982 by photographer Per Kruse, and kindly given to us by Art Director Steen B.” -Bates Photo: Per Kruse Text: Daniel Feral Source: TOYS CREW
