CROOK & CHROME in Miami and Grilling I-95 in the 90s

By - Monday, February 8th, 2016

Something few people realize about 12ozProphet is that we got our start in 1993 down in Miami. Before we moved up to New York City, we were running the magazine and mail order business from down in Florida, meeting cats down there and getting up. That’s why when we stumbled across this report today about CROOK and CHROME grilling a wall on I-95 we just had to share.

The report, from WLRN in Miami, is about a year old, but it talks about something that occurred nearly two decades ago. As you’ll hear CROOK and CHROME were killing the city at the time, and quickly became the poster boys for graffiti, sort of like our pal DESA in NYC. The wall mentioned in the report is the one that broke the camels back, and boy was it a big one. Take a listen and hear the two writers tell their stories from very different positions.
