By - Thursday, October 18th, 2012

After two years of planning and hard work, Damien Hirst unveils his latest project, ‘Verity’ located on the boardwalk of the resort town of Ilfracombe, UK. The bronze statue stands 65 feet tall, weighs more than 55,000 lbs and was made by over 40 individual castings and framed by a single piece of stainless steel at Pangolin Editions in Gloucestershire. On his website, the artist explains the sculpture was inspired by the bronze sculture, Little Dancer of Fourteen Years by Edgar Degas and was created as a “modern-day allegory for truth and justice”. Check out the pics of her construction and installation above.
