Digable Planets Reunite for 2012 Album

The news of a 2012 Digable Planets album will undoubtedly be the topic of conversation between 90’s hip hop junkies this week. First heard off HipHopDX yesterday, the trio will be back in the studio for their first album since 1994. Butterfly, Ladybug Mecca, and Doodlebug (now Cee Knowledge), best known for blending jazz into their hip hop sound, released two albums in the early nineties before parting ways. But 2012 already promises to be a good year, as DP have decided to work on a third LP. In the meantime, check them out this month at Brooklyn Bowl!

And take a trip down memory lane with Digable Planet’s “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)”.
