Douglas “HoxxoH” Hoekzema Hits The Belt in Detroit

By - Friday, May 29th, 2015

The Belt, located in downtown Detroit, is a newly developed alley and the new home to several artists’ work. As you walk down the brick paved alley, you’ll see works from Cleon Peterson, Tristan Eaton, Pose, Sam Friedman, Roids, Revok, Vhils, Dave Kinsey and Shepard Fairey. Curated by the Library Street Collective gallery, The Belt has added the work of Miami based artist HoxxoH

Douglas “HoxxoH” Hoekzema, member of Miami based MSG crew, known for his geometric and at times abstract style of painting, has created an energy filled piece in the center of the alley. Acting almost as a human pendulum, Hox creates these near perfect circles of colorful flares by hand to form this piece, entitled “MandalaladnaM”, an homage to The Super Fat Cap.

Hox, who stayed in Detroit for more than a week said that “It was an honor to paint in Detroit!”
