Dubai Embraces Street Art?!

By - Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

With an unbelievably conservative society by American standards, where conformity can be imposed by methods as archaic as community stoning or being flogged, it’s ironic that anyone in the United Arab Emirates would have an interest anything as subversive as street art. That said, Dubai is currently hosting an exhibition called “Street Art Without Borders” that runs until this Thursday April 7th. This is the first show of its kind to debut in Dubai. The show features 50 artists from 15 different countries. Apparently its receiving quite a response from local art collectors and connoisseurs. No word on whether we’ll see the likes of Swoon or Fafi invited over to have their way with the local urban facades. Via: prlog.org
