It looks like the youth is on the verge of claiming their place in hip-hop history. Almost an answer to the West Coast’s Odd Future, two of Brooklyn’s hip-hop collectives, Phony Ppl and Pro Era are getting ready to release some albums. Phony Ppl frontman Dyme-A-Duzin just dropped the video for “Swank Sinatra,” off his mixtape “A Portrait of Donnovan,” which is being released on January 9th. Produced by Plain Pat—a frequent collaborator with Kanye West—it also features Pro Era’s Joey Bada$$, Capital STEEZ and CJ Fly as their unique flows are highlighted throughout.
Pro Era drops their new album, “Peep the Apocalypse,” on Friday. To celebrate the end of the world, Stussy will be hosting an album release party, which will include t-shirt releases and a meet-and-greet with the crew.
