Forum Shot of the Day: Ichabod
Today’s Forum Shot of the Day features the freight train killer Ichabod. This photo was taken and posted by 12oz forum user Lost And Found and was found in the Lost and Found Bin thread found in the Metal Heads forum.
Tick-tock around the clock is what Ichabod is about. His signature block lettering and tick-tock style is so famous that there is a dedicated Ichabod thread in the Metal Heads forum. Ichabod was also featured in the book “Weird Massachusetts” for his gigantic mural found in the woods of Lynnfield, MA. In April of 2013, writer Caleb Neelson wrote a detailed story on Ich, which revealed many interesting facts about the artist. Ichabod began writing when he was 27 years old, and struggled all his life with school and jobs due to having Asperger’s syndrome; which he discovered when he was 38. However, a symptom of Asperger’s is being obsessed with certain interests, for Ichabod that interest was freight graffiti. Ichabod meticulously studied details such as which trains would travel around America the most or the exact times certain trains will come into yards. This dedication and hard work is what allowed Ichabod to allegedly paint more than 3000 train cars.
Ichabod’s work continues to be found in freight yards everyday. 12oz would like to give a shout out to Ichabod today, not only because is he extremely popular in the Metal Heads forum, but he is also one of the hardest working writers in the game. He is a example of a writer who is passionate about his art, and does not let any difficulties get in the way of it. Remember to check the Metal Heads forum daily to see more of Ichabod’s work.
