Free: Bask Art Giveaway on 1xRun Tomorrrow
50 original hand painted multiples by BASK are being given away for free on 1xRUN’s website Thursday March 1st.
As a Czechoslovakian immigrant who moved to Florida at a very young age, Bask saw propaganda everywhere. He immediately began to pick up on similarities between American advertising and popular Communist icons, which inspired him to create paintings criticizing advertisements and mass media. His work deconstructs familiar American iconography, all the while being aesthetically striking, using loud colors and childlike illustrations.
