Freight Friday: Ja and Wisk East Meets West

By - Friday, May 3rd, 2013

All city bombing kings Ja from from New York and Wisk from Los Angeles caught wreck in 1989 on these Garvey Hoppers, scattered on a mixed line outside of Chicago. The writers caught tags, one letters, two letters, five letters with fat caps and stock caps, this is a unique travelling time capsule of graffiti history. Wisk One is considered amongst the founding fathers of Los Angeles graffiti, he started painting in 1985. Ja One continues to be one of the most up New York City bombers to date, painting the name first in 1986. Only the writers themselves would know where this was painted, but I’d guess NYC as there is also a Ghost hollow and hands by SaneSmith, Reas, and Ven.
