Freight Friday: Shock UC
For this Freight Friday post we would like to feature the steel burners of SHOCK UC, whose name has been popping up in threads all throughout the Metal Heads Forum. SHOCK has a fresh style that flows well throughout his work. His letters are cleanly put together and stay true to proportion. The color schemes of his burners are eye catching and blend well together. The work seen on SHOCK’s freight trains seem to have jumped off the pages of a black book.
SHOCK UC is from Minneapolis, MN and is part of the United Crushers crew. The United Crushers have been killing the game in Minneapolis for more than a decade. They are so notorious that a popular urban exploration spot in Minneapolis was nick-named the United Crusher’s Mill due to the giant roller the crew painted on the grain silos. SHOCK was featured in issue three of “Anonymous” a graffiti magazine that is centered around the Minneapolis graffiti scene. SHOCK has also collaborated with Minneapolis street clothing brand “Minnesota Vice”, which is selling some of his original artwork.
12oz would like to give a warm shout out to SHOCK and the UC crew for putting Minneapolis on the map. We hope to be seeing more of SHOCK’s work getting posted in the 12oz forums soon. If you really enjoyed SHOCK’s work, support him by buying his sticker pack or his original art on Minnesota Vice’s website. To see more Minneapolis graffiti check out the Minneapolis thread in the Brick Slayers forum.
