Back for another Friday Five, we’ve compiled work from the North side and the West side of Chicago. First up is MASE, showing us great use of letter connections, add-ons and contrast between the background and the foreground. Following MASE is DIEM, showing us good connections and letter breaks through the use of various arrow add-ons. DIEM’s barcode 3D makes the piece pop. GTEK is up next, serving up reds, oranges and blues. GTEK’s character incorporation is ill, showcasing GTEK’s piecing and character skills. WINK’s piece sits on the line of legibility. His letter structure and add-on combination work well to camouflage his letters to the untrained eye. Last but not least: FENDO. FENDO’s letters are pretty complicated. This piece includes letter flow, allowing the viewer to become momentarily lost in the piece.
