Ari Marcopoulos is known for capturing the everyday lives of the artists, musicians, and skateboarders, as well as his gritty New York street photography, including a feverish amount of graffiti.

Tonight, Ari will have a solo show, Wherever You Go, at Marlborough Gallery in Chelsea. The works to be presented are a leap into a new direction, focusing on the abstract, atmospheric and intangible. Large-scale rice paper for the base, with layer printed upon layer of one single image creating a densely textured black and white pigment print.

Wherever You Go by Ari Marcopoulos is opening tonight May 10, 2012 at Marlborough Gallery in Chelsea, from 6PM-8PM at 545 West 25th Street.
