Google Street Art Project: MadC

By - Thursday, March 19th, 2015

“Every wall is an inspiration for me.”

The Google Street Art Project, Google’s recently launched street art initiative to preserve street art globally, visited celebrated writer MadC’s studio and accompanied her as she took a fresh sketch to a wall. The video is a part of the second “Women’s Forum Street Art Project,” which aims to explore and empower women within the subculture of street art. Speaking on MadC, Mr OneTeas commented:

“MadC…produced some incredible work with her 500 Wall. Technically she could teach us all a thing or two, women and men both. As this is still a fairly new artistic discipline, the usual codes and stereotypes aren’t always a given.”

In a project seeking to support and increase awareness of women street artists, the inclusion of MadC is a simple and perfect choice. With a career that has been constantly groundbreaking, both in technical ability and scale, she continues to create work that remains rooted heavily in modern graffiti but is progressive in its use of colour and form.
