Graffiti of Chernobyl

By - Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Just about 25 years ago, one of the worst nuclear disasters in human history occurred at the Chernobyl Power Station in the Ukrainian city of Pripyat. The radioactive conditions in the vicinity were deadly and deteriorating further, forcing a complete evacuation of the city. Over two decades later, pretty much all that remains are the barely recognizable remnants of old buildings, punctuated by various graffiti. Thats right… Graffiti! With the help of photographer Alex Cheban you can see Chernobyl’s graff scene. Just recently the city has been opened back up in limited places, so who knows what will happen now with the buildings and the graffiti that covers them. Check out more photos over at Alex’s website.
