Green Villain Creates Week-Long Graffiti Exhibition at Pep Boys Store in Jersey City
When we last caught up with Green Villain a month ago, they had just completed curating the outside of the now-defunct Pep Boys store in downtown Jersey City, consisting of over 15,000 square feet of wall space, filled with art. More recently, the Green Villain collective partnered with developers who have purchased the Pep Boys property, and has begun the process of transforming the 20,000 square foot interior into a mixed medium art exhibition.
You can expect installations from the likes of SP ONE, WANE, DISTORT, CURVE, SPOT, MUSTART and over 30 other artists’ works. The exhibit will only be open to the public for one week, after which the entire building will be torn down. The opening is an all-day event, beginning on June 27 at 12pm and will feature live DJ sets from Green Villain’s record label, Green Village, accompanied by catered food and refreshments. After that, the entire exhibit will be open to the public on a daily basis.
The address for the event is 141 Marin Blvd in Jersey City. More information can be found on Green Villain’s website.
