Guerilla Advertising: Hacked NYPD Poster’s Spark Public Interest “Bloomberg is Watching You”
This article was posted by ulysses.c 8 months, 17 hours, 17 minutes ago.
Phoney NYPD poster ads have been popping up around the city these past few days. The Posters depict a black plane dropping a security drone that appears as if it is attacking a silhouette of a fleeing family which carried the message “DRONES, protection when you least expect it,” the other Poster shows more silhouettes of people and security cameras as they are watched from atop by a stencil of Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The fake ads were spotted near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and in Chelsea one day after Occupy Wall Street protesters returned to the city to celebrate their first anniversary, It is still not known who was behind the poster prank but it sure did catch the attention of the NYPD and even sparking an investigation as to who may have installed these posters.
