Recap: Hello Kitty, Hello Art x Pose Private Opening at Known Gallery

By - Thursday, October 18th, 2012

Known Gallery was transformed into a Hello Kitty fan’s heaven this past weekend for the pop-up event Hello Kitty, Hello Art. Celebrating the book release of the same title, the gallery was filled with brightly colored work from various artists all in honor of the iconic feline and her Sanrio friends. The exhibition featured neon installations by RISK, custom chandeliers from Adam Wallacavage and pieces from 64 Colors, AIKO, Caia Koopman, DABS MYLA, Kenton Parker, Niagara, Shepard Fairey and Simone Legno. The man of the evening however was POSE who debuted over 30 new paintings for the show. The vivid colors and pop art filled the gallery with energy while Wallacavage’s chandeliers in their elaborateness added whimsy to the event. If you weren’t able to make it to the opening you can purchase prints and the Hello Kitty, Hello Art book at sanrio.com. Text: Keisha Raines Photo: Birdman
