12ozProphet Exclusive: Katsu Gets Up in the Virtual World of Minecraft
This article was posted by Senior Editor 3 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, 12 hours, 20 minutes ago.
Katsu is one of the most creative graffiti writers, from blasting a fire extinguisher tag across the LA MOCA, to getting Google Satellite ups, to a mission to Sub-Saharan Africa. His latest frontier is the virtual environment of Minecraft. In 2012 Minecraft was Xbox Live Arcade’s best selling game, selling more units than the next five games combined! As of January 22, 2013, the game has sold over 9 million copies on PC and over 20 million copies across all platforms.
The creative and building aspects of Minecraft allow players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the game include exploration, gathering resources, crafting and combat. When you think about it it’s not so different from the daily life of a graffiti writer. Check out the first of a series of throw ups and pieces Katsu is constructing in the virtual world of Minecraft.
