Rumors are true and now that it is confirmed, it’s safe to say that Nintendo just announced local multiplayer for Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the games release in March. The reveal comes via the game’s description on Nintendo’s website, which notes “a brand new local multiplayer mode.”

The real question - what will this multiplayer entail? Competitive? Cooperative? Number of players? “With so many new places to explore, all new ways to capture ghosts, and a brand new local multiplayer mode, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario’s heroic brother—and it’s only on Nintendo 3DS,” reads Nintendo’s site, despite still listing the game’s number of players as ‘1’. Check out the Comic-Con 2012 stage demo above on what you can expect.
